SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR ROMA STUDENTS

”LIVIA PLAKS ROME RIGHTS SCOLARSHIP” 2021-2023
UCTRR - Civic Union of Young Roma in Romania, launches the scholarship program "Livia Plaks Memorial Scholarship", addressed to Roma students in Romania, who study at accredited universities in Romania mainly in the following fields: law, psychology and educational sciences, sociology and social work, political science, international relations, journalism, administrative science, communication, environmental engineering, history, economics, theater and film, automation and computers. The aim of the program is to support the further studies of Roma students and their involvement in promoting the rights of the Roma ethnic minority.

PROGRAM INFORMATION

Livia Plaks Roma Rights Scholarship is an initiative carried out by Andrew Plaks and his family, in partnership with the Civic Union of Young Roma in Romania with the support of the Romanian United Fund. The program will support an estimated 17 Roma students in the 2021-2023 academic years who come from low-income families interested in continuing their university studies and getting involved in promoting Roma rights. Livia Plaks was the President of Project for Ethnic Relations. She passed away on February 2, 2013, at the age of 65.
